The recovery of the cruise industry will be quite rapid | Félix González (Infocruceros)

Mar 19, 2021

In this first edition of ISTalks, we talk to Felix Gonzalez, founder of InfoCruceros, one of the largest cruise information websites in Spanish. InfoCruceros was born in 2002 as a pioneering project within the sector, setting trends and becoming a leader in terms of monthly visitors… A few years later, Felix launched Cruceros&Destinos magazine, which he edited for a total of 6 years.

Today, Felix is considered one of the leading cruise experts in the Spanish-speaking world, having sailed on 40 ships and visited another 40. Felix is undoubtedly an opinion leader in the industry, with a transversal knowledge of the sector that he shares with us at ISTalks. In addition to being a cruise expert, he is a digital strategist, content creator and community manager.

Together with Felix Gonzalez, we go through the main changes that the cruise industry has seen in the last 20 years, from the birth of InfoCruceros to the present day. He shares his forecasts for the future and gives us his views on the different events we are currently experiencing.

We bring to the table the health measures that are being talked about lately in the cruise industry. Felix stresses that they are exceptional and that there is no other type of tourism product that is offering this type of safety guarantees, as in the case of cruises, the aim is to create a safe “bubble” on board.

It also indicates that cruise consumers will be able to enjoy the experience in a similar way as in the past, even though there are a number of constraints due to the pandemic. Loyal cruisers continue to demand the product, which will make the recovery of the cruise industry quite high.
